Short Story : A Faithful Dog

A Faithful Dog

Neil loves to travel and he was so fond of forests. Whenever he plans for a holiday, he would choose a place that is blessed by Mother Nature. To celebrate his son’s second birthday, he decided to stay and enjoy the celebration in woods, located at the lap of a mountain. He with his family and friends, reached the village located near the woods and had his stay in the cottage. The cottage was located at the entrance of the dense forest, where the guests can view animals roaming in the nearby place.
Neil’s son saw a dog at the door and offered him a biscuit. The dog was happy and very soon the little boy befriended the dog. On second day, the birthday of the boy was celebrated grandly in the woods within beautiful nature. The dog did not leave the boy even for a minute and they both became close pals.

The next day, Neil, his wife and others decided to go for hunting in the forest and arranged a babysitter to take care of the little for half a day.
After 3 hours, all the elders returned to the cottage and they seemed very tired. The dog saw Neil and others, it rushed to them and licked Neil’s shoes. The cottage was open and nobody was there.
Neil’s wife was shocked to see the blood stains in the dog’s mouth and she shouted. All of them thought that the dog has killed Neil’s little boy. Everyone was shocked to see the blood-spattered mouth and started to lash the dog. The dog screamed in pain. Neil hit the dog with his gun and it was wounded badly. Hearing the dog’s screaming noise, the babysitter rushed to the entrance with Neil’s son.
They were all speechless and enquired what happened to the dog and why blood stains in the dog’s mouth was?
The babysitter told that the boy was about to get attacked by a wolf which roamed around the house, but luckily it was killed by the dog. She showed the dead wolf to them.
They felt so bad and offered first aid to the wounded dog.
Haste makes waste! Decisions made in hurry won’t be helpful.

Descriptive Text about Tyrannosaurus Rex

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Tyrannosaurus Rex Holotype.jpg
Reconstruction of the T. rex type specimen
(CM 9380) at the Carnegie Museum of
Natural History
Tyrannosaurus is a genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning "king" in Latin), is one of the most well-represented of the large theropods. Tyrannosaurus lived throughout what is now western North America, on what was then an island continent known as Laramidia. Tyrannosaurus had a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period, 68 to 66 million years ago. It was the last known member of the tyrannosaurids, and among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction.

History
Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time; the largest complete specimen, located at the Field Museum of Natural History under the name FMNH PR2081 and nicknamed Sue, measured 12.3 meters (40 ft) long, and was 3.66 meters (12 ft) tall at the hips, and according to the most recent studies estimated to have weighed between 8.4 metric tons (9.3 short tons) to 14 metric tons (15.4 short tons) when alive. Not every adult Tyrannosaurus specimen recovered is as big. Historically average adult mass estimates have varied widely over the years, from as low as 4.5 metric tons (5.0 short tons), to more than 7.2 metric tons (7.9 short tons), with most modern estimates ranging between 5.4 metric tons (6.0 short tons) and 8.0 metric tons (8.8 short tons).

The neck of Tyrannosaurus rex formed a natural S-shaped curve like that of other theropods, but was short and muscular to support the massive head. The forelimbs had only two clawed fingers, along with an additional small metacarpal representing the remnant of a third digit. In contrast the hind limbs were among the longest in proportion to body size of any theropod. The tail was heavy and long, sometimes containing over forty vertebrae, in order to balance the massive head and torso. To compensate for the immense bulk of the animal, many bones throughout the skeleton were hollow, reducing its weight without significant loss of strength.

T. rex size compared to human
The largest known Tyrannosaurus rex skulls measure up to 1.45 meters (4.8 ft) in length. Large fenestrae (openings) in the skull reduced weight and provided areas for muscle attachment, as in all carnivorous theropods. But in other respects Tyrannosaurus's skull was significantly different from those of large non-tyrannosauroid theropods. It was extremely wide at the rear but had a narrow snout, allowing unusually good binocular vision. The skull bones were massive and the nasals and some other bones were fused, preventing movement between them; but many were pneumatized (contained a "honeycomb" of tiny air spaces) which may have made the bones more flexible as well as lighter. These and other skull-strengthening features are part of the tyrannosaurid trend towards an increasingly powerful bite, which easily surpassed that of all non-tyrannosaurids. The tip of the upper jaw was U-shaped (most non-tyrannosauroid carnivores had V-shaped upper jaws), which increased the amount of tissue and bone a tyrannosaur could rip out with one bite, although it also increased the stresses on the front teeth.

The teeth of Tyrannosaurus rex displayed marked heterodonty (differences in shape). The premaxillary teeth at the front of the upper jaw were closely packed, D-shaped in cross-section, had reinforcing ridges on the rear surface, were incisiform (their tips were chisel-like blades) and curved backwards. The D-shaped cross-section, reinforcing ridges and backwards curve reduced the risk that the teeth would snap when Tyrannosaurus bit and pulled. The remaining teeth were robust, like "lethal bananas" rather than daggers, more widely spaced and also had reinforcing ridges. Those in the upper jaw were larger than those in all but the rear of the lower jaw. The largest found so far is estimated to have been 30.5 centimeters (12 in) long including the root when the animal was alive, making it the largest tooth of any carnivorous dinosaur yet found. T. rex's serrated, conical teeth were most likely used to pierce and grip flesh, which it then ripped away with its brawny neck muscles. Its two-fingered forearms could probably seize prey, but they were too short to reach its mouth.

Scientists believe this powerful predator could eat up to 500 pounds (230 kilograms) of meat in one bite. Fossils of T. rex prey, including Triceratops and Edmontosaurus, suggest T. rex crushed and broke bones as it ate, and broken bones have been found in its dung.

Tyrannosaurus rex lived in forested river valleys in North America during the late Cretaceous period. It became extinct about 65 million years ago in the Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction.

Student's Basic Leadership Training

My Student's Basic Leadership Training Experience

Our beds in the barrack
The Student's Basic Leadership Training held at 22nd September 2017 in Pussenif, W.R. Supratman Street. It was a great experience. At the first day, we grouped into several classes. I grouped into class A. After that, we put our gears and equipments in the field. After that, we performed the ceremony in the field. Then, we went to the room near the field. We listened to what the soldiers taught there. They also taught us about some song that we would sang in the student basic leadership training. Next, we had a lunch together at the room. We were taught by the soldiers to ate in the correct manner. We also sang a song before we had our lunch. After that, we took our gears and equipments to the barrack. We grouped into several room in the barrack. We did our activities happily that day. At night, we listen to what the soldiers taught too and had a dinner together. We listened about some topics, such as leadership, insight into the archipelago, and defend the country topic.

We practiced in the field
The next day, we awakened by the soldiers. Then some of us must obeyed what the soldiers commanded that day because some of us were not wearing clothes as what the soldiers commanded. We also studied some lesson about how to perform the ceremony with a good manner. It was a really hectic day. In the night, we went to a place called "Makam Pahlawan". We did some activities there, such as Caraka Malam. Caraka Malam was the scariest activity in this training, because we had to go in the "Makam Pahlawan" and did some activities there. Then, we went back to Pussenif. It was a really tired day, but we had a lot of experience.
We did gymnastics in the
field

The last day, we practiced in the morning. Then, we played 7 games, such as throwing axe, climbing rope, and much more after the soldiers. Wow, it was a really exciting day, but I felt really tired that day. After that, we performed what we had practiced in the second day. Well, I felt very proud to perform what I had studied and practiced in Pussenif. We performed that in front of our parent
s, so it made me felt a bit nervous too, but it was really exciting. Then, all the activities for student's basic leadership training was over. We came to our parents and I saw that my mom was in the edge of the field too, so I came to her.

Lastly, I just wanna say thanks to all the soldiers that made us become a better student and thanks to all the seniors that sacrifice their time to set up this training in order to make us become a better student too.

Be Kind to Others

Hello....
Today I'm going to talk about "helping others or helped by others".

Well, in my opinion "help" is a thing that we need in some desperate situation. We need other people's help when we are in some desperate situation. We usually receive other people's help, such as while we are doing something and we need some help, some people will help us if they are care about our problems. It really make us feel grateful. So, i think we need to be care about all that happen around us.

I have some experience about "helping others or helped by others". It was happened a few days ago. I was studying in the school that day. My mother promised me that she would picked me up at 3 pm because I thought that the study duration would only lasted until 3 pm, but there was something that made the study duration only lasted until 2 pm. Oww no ! I forgot to brought some money for me to came home. I was really confused on how to got some money for me to came home. Then, my friend, Irgi offered me to lent some of his money. I felt really grateful after Irgi offered to lent some of his money for me. Then, I felt thankful to Irgi for his help, so I can came home by using some money that he lent to me.

The other "helping others or helped by others" experience happened at the beginning of the first semester in my senior high school. I saw my friend, Irgi was confused on how to made a scientific method on his biology subject's project. Then, I lent him some help. I offered to lent my biology subject's book to him. I also taught him some steps on how to made a scientific method on his biology subject's project. I felt really glad to see him knew how to made his biology subject's project. Then, he felt really happy because i helped him. He said "thanks" to me.

One more "helping others or helped by others" experience happened when i was in 6th grade elementary school. I was playing futsal at D'Groove that day. I fell down accidentally. Oww it was really hurt. Then, all of my team mates came to me. They helped me by lifted me up and brought me to the edge of the field. They brought me some ice in order to cool my feet. I felt really grateful for their help. Then, I said "thanks" to them.

Well, that three experiences make me know that I should help someone who needs, because we can't live without others. We are "social human" who can't live without other people. Sometimes, we need other people help, so why don't we help other people too ? But, don't forget to say "thank you" after you receive some help from other people, because that express our grateful feelings to the person that show an appreciation of his/her kindness.

That's all from me. I hope you enjoy my post.

About Me

All about Me

Hello ! My name is Gian Gideon. I live in Cibeureum, South Cimahi. I study at SMAN 3 Bandung. I'm still 15th years old. I was born in Bandung, 3rd of March, 2002.

My hobbies are playing football and playing computer. I really hate reading books, but I really like sport. My favourite sport is football. Well, my favourite football club is Chelsea F.C. "Blue is the colour and football is the game."

I have one brother. My brother name is Fanri. He studies at STAN University in Jakarta. He really likes football too. We both are Chelsea F.C. fans. When I was a kid, I used to play football together with my brother. That's really exciting !

My favourite subjects in my school are Physics, Computer, and Sports. I'm an active person. I can't sit on a chair for a long time. My favourite foods are noodles and fried rice that my mother cooks. I don't know why, but it's really delicious !

I have a funny experience when i was a kid. At that day, me and my family visited my neighbour's home. I was playing together with my brother at the garden. We threw rocks to a wall. My brother only threw pebble to the wall, but I threw bricks to the wall. I felt that it was really boring so I decided to throw a brick to the sky. I was really interested to see the brick flew above my head. But I was still a kid so I didn't know that the brick would came back to my head after it flew. The brick hit my head. Owh, it was really hurt. My head was bleeding. My brother shocked after he saw my head was bleeding. He brought me to our parents. My parents brought me to a nearest hospital at that place. I was operated at that hospital. Well, I think that is the most absurd experience that i've ever had.

Well, that's all from me, thanks for reading my first post.
