My Bakdes Experience

On the 3rd of January 2019 until the 5th of January 2019, my school, SMA Negeri 3 Bandung held an activity. It is called "Bakdes". Bakdes is an abbreviation of "Bakti Desa". Bakti Desa is an activity where the students show their care by helping the work of the villagers in a village and also show their social responsibility. The Bakdes activity was held in Kertasari Village, located in Cibeureum sub-district, Bandung Regency. Kertasari Village is a farming and gardening suitable village located in the plateau of Southern Bandung. The air in Kertasari Village is very cool and the land is very fertile.

We went there by using public transportation called "Angkot". We talked a lot on the way to the village. We frolicked each other in the public transportation. Finally, we arrived at Kertasari Village. After we listened to an opening speech from the headman there, we went to our foster family's house. Our foster father was Mr. Asep and our foster mother was Mrs. Elis. Me and three of my teammates were very happy when we saw our bedroom in that house, because it is located in the second floor of the house and it is the only room on t

he second floor. So, we felt like we had our one and only "private room".

Our foster parent's job is food seller. They sell breakfast food and several fried snacks on their porch. In the morning, their porch usually full of village workers that are looking for breakfast before starting their work. We helped our foster parents by cleaning their porch and other helpful stuff. We're not only helping our foster parents, we also played a lot with children of Kertasari Village.

During the Bakdes activity, we also visited certain interesting places for refreshing. We visited a dam near the village and also a water source in the village. The water was so refreshing and so natural. We also visited point zero of Citarum River, the point where the enormous Citarum River started. We visited that place using a rented open-top medium-size truck. We felt very happy and meritorious after all we've done for the village.

On the last day, we felt really sad because we had to leave our foster parents and beauty of Kertasari Village. Before leaving the village, we took some photos with out foster parents as a memento. We also asked Mr. Asep's telephone number so that we can still keep in touch. That was an unforgettable experience in my life. I'm looking forward to come and see that village again one day.

Recommendation Letter

So, this is my recommendation letter that I made to fulfill the task from Ms. Wiwin. I recommend Luqman to University of Cambridge in England. 

To University of Cambridge,

I wrote a letter on behalf of Luqman Ardiseno, a student of SMA Negeri 3 Bandung who applied for the scholarship you offered. I've known him for about 2 years. I've already known him well. It's a big pleasure for me to have the opportunity to be able to supervise him as his homeroom teacher. He is in the 12th grade at the moment.

Luqman is a kind of bookworm person. It's like he always reads wherever he is, even while he is in his leisure time. Reading is kinda like his hobby. He said that we need to study as much as we can while we still young, because we will regret if we don't study while we still young. He is also a good speaker. He has a good confidence while speaking in front of a lot of people. He is also a responsible person. He will do all of his tasks because he know that he is responsible for all of the tasks that he has. He has achieved some award in Biology subject, one of the best one is when he won the 1st place in the Biology Competition in UIN Sunan Gunung Jati, Bandung in 2018. He worked hard to win the competition. It's like he studied Biology every day at that time to win the Biology competition. He is such a workhorse. He worked hard to achive his goals. His grades in school are also good, because he doesn't want to forget his responsibility as a student too, as i said before, he is a responsible person.

During his leisure time, Luqman always take his time to read some books, or memorize several lessons that he got from school. He also listens to music while he reads a book. He chooses to enrich his knowledge rather than play his phone or games in his leisure time.

In conclusion, he's a workhorse that he will work as hard as he can to reach all of his goals and he is a good speaker that he is good at speaking in front of many people. He doesn't quit if he face a problem, but he chooses to find a way to solve the problem. He is a really exemplary student! I highly recommend him since I've known him very well and I know that he will surely make a good impact for your school, both inside and outside the school.

Edu Passion 2019

24th of January, Edu Passion
was held in SMA Negeri 3 Bandung

On Thursday, 24th of January, 2019, we had an event in our school. This event called Edu Passion. Edu Passion is an event where so many universities and course sites come to SMA Negeri 3 Bandung and give so many informations, such as where are they located, what are their uniqueness, how to join their university or lesson site, and so much more. We can also ask the college students about anything we want, such as :
- How is the college life ?
- How hard is life when we become a college student ?
- What is the strategies while living as a college student ?
- What are the tips and tricks on surviving the college life ?

Ridwan Kamil gave some opening speech

In the morning, West Java's government, Ridwan Kamil, also came to SMA Negeri 3 Bandung to see Edu Passion event. He gave some opening speech in the event. He said that in his past, there were no school-to-college liaison like the Edu Passion facility. He is looking forward to see this Edu Passion event.

In the afternoon, we can also saw so many presentation from each universities deparments. We can come to several class that accomodated the uniiversities departments presentation. We can still saw the universities and course sites booths in the afternoon.

In the event, I asked several things that I need to know about the universities, such as ITB, ITS, Telkom University, POLBAN, UPI, UNPAS, UNISBA, and so much more. I think that the Edu Passion facility helped me so much to know so many college's informations.
